Abrasive Wheels Training Course

The MJP Abrasive Wheels training option is a half day course which delivers 4-5 hours of classroom based theory and non-live practical instruction and assessment for the more experienced abrasive wheel machine operators, especially those who only operate hand held/portable machines, bench or pedestal grinding machines.

The aim of the MJP Training Abrasive Wheels Principles course is to enable delegates to work safely, to provide an understanding of current legislation and promote awareness of the dangers and hazards of abrasive wheels, and to offer practical steps to reduce workplace accidents and encourage workers to adopt a culture that results in a safer workplace.

Training can be held at our site in Dudley, West Midlands, using our facilities and equipment. Instructors can also come to your site using your facilities and equipment to train your employees.

4-5 hours

Who should take this course?

The MJP Abrasive Wheel training course is suitable for anyone who uses abrasive wheels in their work activities.

The course is particularly relevant for those who use bench grinders, pedestal grinders and angle grinders. Although the training doesn't cover the use of specialist grinding machines, the health and safety information throughout the course is still applicable.

This course has been written at an introductory level and no pre-requisite training is required. Experience of using abrasive wheels would be advantageous.


Each successful operator will receive an A4 size certificate.



Trained Operator Passport Scheme

As an ITSSAR accredited training provider, MJP Forklift Training Services are pleased to offer registration on to the ‘TOPS’ scheme (Trained Operator Passport Scheme). The national certificate enabling operators to operate on multiple sites. All succesful candidates will be entered onto the TOPS national database on completion of this abrasive wheels training course.
